Over the past few weeks, fans have begun to turn on a certain AEW star after his sudden change of demeanor. Tony Khan has just spoken about the situation and commented on how the former WWE high-flyer has just been taking it all in.

For a lot of his recent matches, fans have begun to boo Ricochet, as he has become more cocky and has been going at it with the fans at times. During both of his matches in the Hammerstein Ballroom over the past week, fans have been raining toilet paper rolls down on him while chanting several creative disses.

During the media call ahead of AEW Worlds End, Tony Khan was asked by Sportskeeda's Arunava Ghoshal about Ricochet's new personality. He mentioned how they foresaw him not being cheered by the fans for his recent matches and how they intentionally leaned into his villainous side. Khan noted that his winning the Gold League was also a major part of the plan.

Ricochet addresses AEW fans ahead of his character change

The former WWE United States Champion acknowledged his recent shift in behavior. In his recent matches, he has not held back in doing whatever it took to win. In his match against Will Ospreay, he pulled out a dirty tactic as he sneakily pushed the referee onto his opponent. This opened up the opportunity for him to hit his Spirit Gun finisher for the win.

On X/Twitter, he acknowledged how fans have begun turning on him, but he also mentioned how others might be enjoying his sudden change in demeanor. Ricochet wanted them to stay in their lane, as he did not want anyone hopping on the bandwagon just because he was now winning.

"I don't wanna see anyone switching it up. If you didn't like me before, you missed your chance! No jumping on the bandwagon now. Cheese Curlers!" he wrote.

Tomorrow night, he is set to take on Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada in the semifinals of the Continental Classic at AEW Worlds End. A monumental win against The Rainmaker will push him a step closer to his first AEW singles title.
