Tony Khan has never competed in an AEW ring. He also revealed whether he would ever step inside the squared circle as a competitor.
Since AEW's inception in 2019, Tony Khan has mainly remained an offscreen personality. He has made onscreen appearances from time to time to make major announcements but he never really got involved in the physicality aspect of the show.
That status changed earlier this year when Jack Perry attacked him. The AEW President then found himself on the receiving end of a Piledriver from The Young Bucks. This left the boss wearing a neckbrace for a few weeks. However, he has never gotten into any other physical altercation since.
During a recent interview with amNewYork Metro, Khan mentioned he got into the ring for his segment with Jack Perry involuntarily but does not wish to get into any physical altercations in the future.

“I didn’t step into the ring voluntarily. I would hope to avoid such physical altercations in the future,” Khan said. [H/T: amNewYork]
David Finlay wants to face Tony Khan
AEW's next cross-promotional event, WrestleDream, is just around the corner. Just like Forbidden Door, WrestleDream will feature wrestlers from other promotions like NJPW, CMLL, and ROH and could lead to some dream matches. Although Tony Khan has no intentions of stepping into the ring, he seemingly already has a challenger.
During a recent interview with NJPW, Bullet Club member David Finlay said that he wanted to face the AEW boss in a Dog Pound Cage Match. He also said that Khan would probably be too afraid to get in a fight with him.
"I had the brief idea of wrestling Tony Khan in a Dog Pound Cage Match for all of his money, but I doubt he’s brave enough. I’ve beaten all there is to beat, so I have no issues. The one match I might think of is never going to happen for any number of reasons," he said. [H/T: Fightful]
It is unfortunate that the AEW President won't get involved in any physical altercations going forward, as it could have made for some great storytelling..
