A top AEW star has been absent from TV for a while. Tony Khan confirmed that the star in question suffered an injury.
The Von Erichs have made significant strides in ROH ever since their debut last year. They quickly rose through the ranks of the tag team division and even won the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship along with Dustin Rhodes from the Undisputed Kingdom at AEW Battle of the Belts XI. However, the trio have not defended their titles in months and they won't be part of ROH Final Battle either.
During the recent media call for Final Battle, Tony Khan stated that Ross Von Erich suffered an injury and it's taking a bit longer to heal. For now, the AEW boss is giving him time to recover and hopes that he will be back in the ring soon:
“As for the Von Erichs, Ross has had an injury. It’s been a little bit longer healing than we thought it would be, but that’s okay. Ross will be back with us soon, and I’m excited about that. It was one of those developing situations on an injury. We want to give people time to heal. We focused more on the tag team [titles], and the six-man champions will be back with us very soon. We’ll see going forward what the status of Ross and Marshall is. But I expect Ross back soon and Marshall’s been doing awesome himself, and we’re excited to get those guys back with us as a six-man team.” [H/T Cultaholic]

Tony Khan says AEW will usher in new era after World's End
AEW has had a pretty successful year in 2024. Although viewership and ratings dropped, the company managed to renew its deal with Warner Bros. Discovery which will see its product simulcast on HBO MAX and TBS starting January 1, 2025, for the first time which is a big deal for a company that is only five years old.
During the same media call, Tony Khan addressed the company's upcoming events such as World's End and Fight for the Fallen. He also said that this was the end of an era as the promotion will usher in a new era beginning in 2025 with its simulcast on MAX and TBS.
It will be interesting to see what the new year brings for All Elite Wrestling in terms of numbers.
