Tony Khan recently revealed whether he will ever step down as AEW's head booker. On April 18, he held a media call ahead of the AEW Dynasty.
The AEW President founded the company in 2019 along with the EVPs Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Cody Rhodes. Since then, Khan has been the Head of Creative for the Jacksonville-based promotion.
TK has always tried to book his shows to entertain the fans. However, he has received many suggestions for finding a helping hand in the creative part or having other personnel replace him.
During the call, Khan was asked if he would ever step down from his role as a booker. He stated that he is enjoying his current run and said, "Nobody lasts forever," hinting at eventually stepping down.
"I… would certainly at some point, you know, we’d have to see where we’re at. I think with all positions, you know, nobody lasts forever and eventually that’s something, you know, with any position in any of the organizations I’m in, that will be a reality. I think whether it’s the Jaguars or Fulham or AEW or True Media, you know, I won’t be here forever... And you know, I take it year to year, moment to moment and I’m really loving what we’re doing right now. I’m only 41 years old and I feel like the company is in a really strong place," said Tony Khan. [H/T - EWrestling News]
Tony Khan on a potential collaboration between AEW and WWE
During an interview with Comicbook.com, the AEW President didn't rule out the possibility and said it would depend on the situation.
"It's an interesting thought! It would depend on the circumstance,'' Tony Khan said.
AEW's next pay-per-view Dynasty will be held on April 21 and has arguably one of the best match cards.
The show is headlined by former WWE Superstar Samoa Joe defending his AEW World Championship against another former superstar, Swerve Strickland.
