CM Punk is currently signed to the WWE and is having one of the best runs of his career. However, before signing for the Stamford-based promotion, he wrestled for All Elite Wrestling.

The relationship between CM Punk and AEW was good at the start. Unfortunately, as months passed, it turned sour. It's been more than a year since The Best in the World got fired by Tony Khan. But the aftershock of the situation persists to this day. Recently, Fightful reported that according to Ryan Nemeth, the former WWE Champion repeatedly mistreated him.

Ryan Nemeth reportedly complained about the 46-year-old to numerous AEW executives. However, he was either ignored or given the runaround. Punk's mistreatment of the 40-year-old allegedly carried on for weeks. During the CM Punk-Jack Perry situation, Nemeth tried to let investigators know about his problems with The Second City Saint. But they were more focused on Punk’s future in the company.

Eventually, the former AEW World Champion got fired, but this did not make things better for Nemeth. The 40-year-old wrestled for All Elite Wrestling for the last time in November 2023, but his contract expired in March of 2024. He strongly believes that Tony Khan holds him responsible for having to fire Punk.

CM Punk says he wasted matches on some people in All Elite Wrestling

Peter Rosenberg interviewed The Best in the World on Cheap Heat. The interviewer asked the WWE Superstar if he thought he missed the opportunity to tell a story with any AEW wrestlers. Punk responded to this question by saying that he believes that he wasted a few matches.

"No. I feel like I wasted some matches on some people, for sure. That is what it is. Some people understand the business and some people don’t. I think everybody here understands the business,” said the 46 year old.

CM Punk won the AEW World Championship twice. He competed in his last AEW match at All In 2023 against Samoa Joe.
