AEW CEO Tony Khan recently addressed Adam Copeland's future in the Jacksonville-based promotion. The Rated-R Superstar is a WWE Hall of Famer.
Adam Copeland (fka Edge) broke his tibia at AEW Double or Nothing during his Barbed Wire Cage Match against Malakai Black for the TNT Championship. The Rated-R Superstar managed to retain his title despite the injury. However, The Young Bucks stripped him of the belt the very next day. Copeland is on the road to recovery and will likely return in 2025.
During the AEW Full Gear media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about Adam Copeland's status. Khan said that he hopes to see The Ultimate Opportunist back in action soon as he had been doing some of his best work as the TNT Champion earlier this year.
"Adam Copeland, we've been missing him very very much. He was doing so great for us this year as the TNT Champion. We really miss The Rated-R Superstar very much and I can't wait to hopefully at sometime in the near future get him back. It was really a devastating thing and we're really blessed to have such a great roster in AEW because everybody really stepped up. When you lose somebody so valuable to the team like Adam Copeland, it's always always gonna hurt. As soon as we get him back, it's gonna make a huge positive difference to have Adam Copeland back on this team." [From 01:42:18 to 01:42:54]
