Jon Moxley and his Death Riders are still running wild in AEW, but Tony Khan has cooked up a plan to provide The Purveyor of Violence with a challenge. The All Elite president took to social media today to announce a Casino Gauntlet match for next Wednesday.
Moxley managed to hold onto his AEW World Championship at the Worlds End pay-per-view to close out the year, and with Hangman Page and Orange Cassidy now targeting each other, he'll need a new direction to kick off 2025. The Casino Gauntlet match is one of All Elite Wrestling's most popular match stipulations, and it could provide a shocking challenger for Mox.
Tony Khan took to X/Twitter today and announced that next week's episode of Dynamite will feature a Casino Gauntlet match to determine Jon Moxley's next challenger. The winner of the match will face the champion on the special Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite on January 15.
"Next Wed, 1/8 Clarksville, TN Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite 8pm ET/7pm CT, TBS + MAX Casino Gauntlet Match Winner Gets World Title bout vs @JonMoxley at Maximum Carnage Wed, 1/15 Next Wednesday the first simulcast Casino Gauntlet Match on MAX + TBS! Don’t miss Dynamite TONIGHT!"

Adam Copeland opens up about potentially challenging Jon Moxley
This year's Worlds End pay-per-view was stacked with high-octane matches and shocking returns. The show ended with Adam Copeland making his comeback alongside FTR, and the three men will take on The Death Riders on tonight's Dynamite.
Copeland is a two-time TNT Champion, but it seems he's setting his sights a little higher after resuming his All Elite run. The Rated-R Superstar told Rick Ucchino on SI's The Takedown that he's excited about the possibility of competing against The Purveyor of Violence:
"I think this'll be uglier in all the ways that I love. [Moxley] reminds me a little bit of Terry Funk. He's got a little Roddy Piper to him. He's got that throwback feel, but with a modern take. That to me is really exciting. I'd love to just get in there and just have it be a gnarly fight. A hard hitting heavyweight match between two dudes who are over 230 pounds and are just gonna take each other's heads off. That sounds like a good night," Copeland said.
Copeland hasn't held a World Championship since his initial retirement from WWE in 2011. Whether The Rated-R Superstar has enough gas in the tank to dethrone Jon Moxley remains to be seen.
