Tony Khan has officially announced a massive main event for the 250th episode of AEW Dynamite next week. The episode will witness MJF clashing in singles action against Will Ospreay.
The Aerial Assassin opened the latest episode of the flagship show to address MJF and the shocking assault he had launched on Daniel Garcia last week on Dynamite: Beach Break. Ospreay assumed his seat on the second rope and called out the former AEW World Champion for his actions.
Ospreay went on to detail the reasons informing the dislike which The Wolf of Wrestling has displayed towards him in recent weeks. He criticized MJF over his insecurity and claimed that Tony Khan opted to invest in him as he elevated the Jacksonville-based promotion instead of tearing it down for his own personal agenda.
Eventually, Ospreay called MJF out to face him in the ring. Although Friedman's entrance music played, he revealed that he was having a drink somewhere backstage. The New York native stated that he was not going to grace the Calgary Stampede Saddledome with his presence before tearing into Ospreay. Friedman also claimed that the fans would eventually reject Ospreay, similar to what they allegedly did to him.
MJF refused to wrestle the 31-year-old tonight but challenged the latter for next week's episode of Dynamite, daring Ospreay to put his AEW International Championship on the line. Ospreay accepted the challenge, and Tony Khan later made the match official.
It remains to be seen whether MJF can capture the International Title for the first time by defeating Will Ospreay next week.
