Tony Khan and AEW have made an interesting move, keeping a top star from leaving the company to sign with WWE. This certain star has addressed the situation and revealed that despite this, they were willing to do whatever the company asked of them. This would be Penta El Zero Miedo.

It has been rumored that the luchador and his brother Rey Fénix are looking to leave the promotion once their contracts come to an end. However, the company added injury time to both of them. Penta had a few months added to his contract, but Fénix will remain with the promotion for almost as long as a year.

In an interview with Mas Luchas, Penta El Zero Miedo broke his silence on the situation. He mentioned how he understood that both sides were defending their interests. He revealed that he is focused on his remaining time with Tony Khan's promotion.

“It’s like I was saying, everyone defends their interests. Tony is defending his interests, and we are defending our own. I’ll say this: I am still under contract with AEW, that is my present. I have not thought about my future because I prefer to think about my here and now, and my now is AEW. If they decided to not have us in matches, that’s their thing, but I am ready for the day they need me to go to work with the same energy and enthusiasm I’ve always had."

He continued that for now, his focus was on his current company and in-ring work, and he'll let his legal team handle everything else regarding his future contract.

"We will see what happens in future months, but I am still in AEW, and I cannot even think after talking to another company because that is not of my involvement. My legal team, lawyers, and that stuff will handle everything relating to contracts and the like, but my job is inside that ring and with the fans. Everything that happens outside of that will be handled by people in their areas. My present in AEW, I’m still firm with them and, quite frankly, I don’t know what will happen in the future," he said. [H/T Fightful]

The Lucha Brothers could put talent over should they compete during their remaining time in AEW

Following AEW's surprising move to add injury time to Penta and Fénix's contracts, the brothers have no choice but to wait for this time to pass before signing and debuting with another promotion.

According to a recent report by Fightful Select, they had hoped that this would not be the case as they knew how much time injury time Rey Fénix had. It is believed that the luchadors may put talent over should they be asked to compete during the remainder of their time with the company.

It remains to be seen how Tony Khan will utilize the Lucha Brothers and whether fans will see them have one final run before they leave the company and join Triple H's team in WWE.
