AEW President Tony Khan once again took a subtle shot at WWE after a recent controversy. He has never held back from calling out the global sports entertainment juggernaut for their purported misdeeds towards his promotion.

TV ratings of AEW's weekly shows are arguably one of the biggest talking points on social media these days, with fans judging the company's success with how much of an audience they draw. It is evident that the promotion's rating has been seemingly on the decline through the years.

The June 1 edition of Collision's total viewership earlier circulated by some Twitter users was 122,000. However, a couple of days later, credible sources reported the actual number, which was 378,000 and rated 0.11 among the 18-49 demographics. Further, some reports claimed WWE spread the false number.

Tony Khan took to Twitter and broke his silence on the issue and called WWE a 'predatory business.' He said previous promotions too suffered a similar problem due to the Stamford-based promotion's tactics. He then thanked the fans who follow AEW.

"These are the same predatory business practices that Jim Crockett Promotions + many former wrestling territories faced in the 1980s. I'm very grateful to all of you wrestling fans who watch AEW, and @AEW is here to stay. See you TONIGHT on @TNTdrama 10pm ET/9pm CT #AEWRampage," he shared.

Tony Khan talks about Britt Baker's lengthy hiatus

The former AEW Women's World Champion has been absent since September 2023 and is out with injuries.

While speaking with Uproxx, AEW's Head of Creative said that D.M.D will be bought back soon.

“Dr. Britt Baker is one of our original stars and she’s been out injured for an extended period of time. I’m very eager to get Britt back here. She’s somebody that’s been part of AEW all along. And we’d love to have her back in the mix very soon,” he said.

It will be interesting to see if WWE responds to claims made by Tony Khan in sny way possible.
