AEW Rampage just had its final episode, and the latest trends support Tony Khan's decision. This could give TK a glimpse into how he should book shows in the new year.
A few weeks back, it was announced that Rampage would air its last episode for the foreseeable future. This news made the fans a little sad, given the good things that had happened on the show over the last few years, including CM Punk's debut.
The ratings for the show were not good, but after the announcement that Rampage would not be broadcast next year, they went up from last week. Programming Insider reported that Rampage drew 273,000 viewers last Friday.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
That was a jump from the previous week, as the show before that only drew in 227,000 viewers. The fans must have tuned in, given that it was the last show. It will be interesting to see what show will replace Rampage in the new year.
Tony Khan asked if stopping AEW Rampage will lead to roster cuts
AEW Rampage will no longer be a show in 2025, and that should not come as a surprise, given the lukewarm reception for the show.
During the Worlds End media call, Josh Nason asked the AEW president whether there would be any roster cuts now that AEW Rampage would not be a show. Tony played it safe and did not give a definitive answer.
He said he does not know about that yet because they have not planned how to accommodate the schedule change. Tony Khan is known to look out for his employees, and most of them have very good things to say about him.
