Ex-WWE stars were present at a recent AEW show which has led the wrestling world to speculate that Tony Khan might soon sign them. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer urged the AEW head to sign these stars, but only if they meet certain criteria.

It was reported that former WWE stars like Baron Corbin, Top Dolla, and Tyler Breeze were present backstage at the AEW Worlds End PPV. Since these three stars attended the last AEW PPV of 2024, the wrestling community believes they might join the Jacksonville-based promotion, as they are no longer with WWE.

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer advised Tony Khan to sign them only if they bring a unique skill set to the promotion. Otherwise, hiring them would simply be a worthless effort and a wrong decision on his part.

Meltzer said, "If somebody is exceptionally good or there’s something they can do with them, that’s unique, they have a unique idea for them, of course go for it. But to have guys just to have guys, they don’t need more guys. They need more top guys, they need more stars they don’t need more bodies." [H/T WrestleTalk on X]

Tony Khan has no interest in Baron Corbin, Top Dolla, and Tyler Breeze - Reports

Many expect Baron Corbin, Top Dolla, and Tyler Breeze to end up in AEW soon, given their recent backstage appearance at AEW Worlds End. But Sean Ross Sapp during a Fightful Select Q&A podcast revealed he hasn't heard Tony Khan being interested in any of them.

“I haven’t heard of AEW having any particular interest in any of them, but I do know that AJ Francis did impress some people within TNA, especially from where he was a year ago and what they were expecting out of him.”

It was mentioned that the purpose of the ex-WWE stars attending the show was merely to meet with their friends.
