Tony Schiavone has just left AEW Dynamite midway through the show due to a particular health concern. Tonight's show emanated from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.

The June 26, 2024, episode of Dynamite featured an action-packed card advancing the leading storylines at play in the promotion heading into AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024. The main event of the show saw International Champion Will Ospreay team up with AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland to take on The Gates of Agony days ahead of their clash for the world title in the UBS Arena.

Generally, the commentary team calling the action for the Wednesday-night flagship show consists of Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone. The latter, however, was conspicuously absent towards the end of the June 26 episode. When a fan took to X/Twitter to inquire on the whereabouts of the veteran announcer, Schiavone explained his absence during the closing stretch of the show by stating that he had lost his voice. He also claimed that the issue had been affecting him through the weekend, and thanked the fan for asking after him.

"Lost my voice. It was giving me problems all weekend. Thanks for asking," Schiavone responded.

Besides commentating on Dynamite, Schiavone also sits on the announcer's desk on AEW Collision alongside Nigel McGuinness. The 66-year-old also frequently conducts in-ring and backstage interviews with talent.

AEW commentator Tony Schiavone's twitter account has been restored

Tony Schiavone has been with All Elite Wrestling since the early days of the promotion, having signed with the company in 2019. The widely respected announcer recently underwent an unpleasant experience on social media.

Taking to Instagram earlier this month, the Virginia-native revealed that his X/Twitter account had been hacked, and that he was working on regaining access to it. Thankfully, the legendary commentator did not have to wait long to have the issue resolved, as Schiavone revealed later on X.

Sharing a photograph of his dog Scout, Schiavone disclosed that he had regained access of his Twitter account again. He also wittily voiced his desire to physically retaliate against the hackers.

"Well, the hack is over. Now it’s time to find out where the hackers live and go kick them in the n*ts. Scout says hi everyone."

Fans will hopefully see Schiavone return to action on the upcoming episode of AEW Collision, which will be the go-home edition of the show before Forbidden Door 2024.
