AEW and WWE fans are buzzing in a major way today following months of rumors and speculations about two of the top stars from the modern era. Triple H and his team are being accused of an intentional leak to hurt Tony Khan and his company, but that's not the only explosive narrative making the rounds today.

The Lucha Brothers have been a hot topic of discussion for several months. Rumors on Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix leaving AEW for WWE surfaced in the summer. Khan wanted to keep the brothers, but a controversial behind-the-scenes situation began to unfold. It was revealed that Fenix had had injury time added to his existing contract, thereby extending the deal through to 2025. The 34-year-old has been sitting at home, with nothing in the works, which has added to the fan backlash.

Zero-Fear entered free agency in December 2024. Ahead of tonight's expected WWE debut during RAW on Netflix, WWE Shop published new merchandise for Penta, and this status confirmation has set the wrestling world on fire. Billing him as simply Penta, WWE is now selling a $74.99 replica mask for the veteran lucha star, plus a $54.99 hoodie, and two t-shirts priced at $34.99 each.

WWE's first post-premiere confirmation led to massive reactions from fans online, with varying observations and opinions from the entire pro wrestling fanbase. A majority of the AEW-related reactions are brutal shots fired at Khan, as usual. The Jacksonville-based promotion was also knocked for missing out on going bigger with Penta as it seems World Wrestling Entertainment may be doing.

You can check out a few of those reactions below:

"WWE knows how to gain money. TK absolutely not," wrote one fan.

Fans seem overtly excited about the Penta replica mask, with many admitting they've already made the pricey purchase. Numerous fans also made references to how AEW shockingly never capitalized on the mask merchandise potential. One of the most frequent lines has fans welcoming Penta to "the Major Leagues" of pro wrestling.

Below are a few of those reactions:

"Welcome to the big league," commented a fan.
"selling masks is a big plus still cant believe aew never capitalized on this," wrote one reader.

Penta rumored for WWE RAW match following AEW exit

Penta is currently one of the most viral WWE topics as the company prepares to present its second RAW Netflix episode later tonight. The show will air live from San Jose, CA at the SAP Center.

WWE wanted to debut Penta last week on the Netflix premiere, but plans were changed. Chad Gable has been announced to face a mystery luchador on tonight's RAW, and that is expected to be one-half of The Lucha Brothers.

Penta defeated DMT Azul on September 22 at a lucha indie event in Mexico. His last AEW match came in mid-July on Rampage as he and Rey Fenix defeated Private Party.
