A top AEW babyface has shockingly secured a major championship. This will no doubt bring a smile to the faces of their fans.
The star in question is none other than Willow Nightingale. She has been feuding with Mercedes Mone for quite some time. The former TBS Champion has been trying hard to get to the top since losing her gold to The CEO at Double or Nothing 2024.
She now has her hands on another title, and it is a big one. Nightingale has won the CMLL World Women’s Championship that was recently vacated by Stephanie Vaquer. The 31-year-old had to vacate the title as she signed with WWE, which was not well received by AEW officials, according to reports.
Nightingale took on Viva Van and Lluvia in a Triple Threat Match at CMLL FantasticaMania USA and came out victorious. Holding a title from a different promotion is nothing new to her, as she has previously been a NJPW Strong Women’s Champion.
It will be interesting to see what happens next for her in AEW and how her booking will change given that she is once again a world champion, albeit in a different promotion.
