A top babyface had to be stretchered out from the arena after suffering a heartbreaking betrayal on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite. The star in question is Daniel Garcia.
The New York native tried to capture his first championship in All Elite Wrestling on the Beach Break edition of Dynamite on July 3, 2024, by challenging Will Ospreay for the latter's AEW International Championship. Garcia was offered the title shot by The Aerial Assassin last Wednesday when he interrupted The Red Death's discussion with MJF regarding a match against The Salt of the Earth at All In 2024.
Friedman was present in Garcia's corner against Will Ospreay in the Wintrust Arena. Toward the end of the bout, MJF offered the 25-year-old star his Dynamite Diamond Ring to use against The Commonwealth Kingpin. However, Garcia refused, handing the ring back to MJF. Unfortunately, the decision cost him the match, as Ospreay delivered a sudden Hidden Blade to retain his title.
After the bout, Friedman seemingly tried to console Daniel for his loss. However, the former AEW World Champion then abruptly delivered a low blow to Garcia and launched a vicious attack on the former ROH Pure Champion, busting him open with the ring and then hitting him with a devastating piledriver from the second rope.

All Elite Wrestling officials rushed to the ring to provide medical support to Garcia. Friedman attempted to continue his assault on the former JAS member until Ospreay returned to the ring to chase him off.
Eventually, the medical team stretchered Garcia away, ending Dynamite: Beach Break on a grim note.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Daniel Garcia and whether the events that transpired on Dynamite will derail his momentum in AEW moving forward.
