According to Jim Cornette, a top name in AEW should return to WWE and finish his career in the promotion. He was talking about wrestling veteran Jim Ross.
JR is currently employed at AEW and works in the promotion as a commentator and senior advisor. He signed a three-year deal with AEW in April 2019. He then signed another one-year contract with the promotion this year in March.
Speaking on Episode 345 of the Drive Thru podcast, Cornette discussed about JR ending his pro wrestling career. He advised the 72-year-old legend to go back to WWE to end his career.
"Oh, Good Lord. I thought you were going to say, 'Would you like him to end his career with AEW?' No, the AEW has almost been the end of a number of people's careers. [The] jury's still out," said Jim Cornette.

He then added that while things were different with Vince McMahon at the helm of the Stamford-based company, a return for Ross now for one final run under Triple H's leadership could be just the swansong the latter's legendary career need before finally retiring.
"But no, I think with the new ownership instead of the insulting way that he was sometimes treated under Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn and John Laurenitis, the co-conspirator of the f**king scandal and etc. With the new ownership, it would be nice to see him brought back and finish his career there," stated Jim Cornette. Ross has been sick lately and perhaps might retire soon owing to his poor health. Last month the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he suffered from shortness of breath and was hospitalized.

The First Lady of Wrestling made the revelation on the Cafe de Rene podcast, where she disclosed that she and JR dated for two years after his wife passed away in 2017. Jim Ross hasn't commented on their past relationship yet.
