Tony Khan's inaugural AEW World Champion Chris Jericho has provided the company with immense star power to draw in new viewers. The veteran has also worked with other talents to help make new stars. However, AEW star Brody King is calling Jericho out for his selfish ways.
The Ayatollah Of Rock 'n' Rolla has been with All Elite Wrestling since the launch of the promotion in January 2019. One area of expertise the 35-year industry veteran brought to the company is the leadership of factions and tag teams. The Canadian star has led a few stables in AEW: The Inner Circle, The Jericho Appreciation Society, and now The Learning Tree. He's also had a few notable tag teams, including Le Sex Gods, The Golden Jets, and LionHOOK.
Brody King is also no stranger to stablemates. The brawler is currently a member of The House of Black with Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black. Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter on WrestleBinge, the 37-year-old was asked his thoughts on the current version of Jericho as The Learning Tree, leading his faction of the same name with Big Bill and Bryan Keith.
"It's very deceiving. I feel like he has this, you know... He wants to give back to the young guys and he wants to mentor people, but as The JAS showed, I don't know if that is always... the most trustworthy person to take [someone else] under his lead. It seems like everyone that joins some iteration of a Jericho group ends up getting left in the dust, whether it be The Inner Circle or The JAS," Brody King said.
King continued:
"I think Big Bill is a phenomenal talent, I think he is someone that can really break out, and really stand on his own, so I hope that Bill sees that, and keeps himself protected. Bryan Keith is no slouch either. I hope that he doesn't see this as just an opportunity to get on TV, I hope that he sees this for what it is, and also keeps himself protected." From 04:26 to 05:26]
