A top AEW star's 18-0 undefeated singles streak came to an end at Forbidden Door III. The star being discussed is Will Ospreay.

The Aerial Assassin made his AEW debut on the June 8, 2022, episode of Dynamite. He competed in his first match on the June 10 episode of Rampage and went on to compete in more matches while being signed to NJPW. Since arriving in June 2022, he has been on a winning streak and won 18 matches.

World Champion Swerve Strickland has been on a marvelous run since his victory over Samoa Joe at the Dynasty pay-per-view. He defended the title against Christian Cage, Roderick Strong, and Claudio Castagnoli throughout his reign.

Meanwhile, Will Ospreay won the International Championship at Double or Nothing pay-per-view. He earned the opportunity at the world title by winning the Casino Gauntlet on Dynamite.

During the main event of Forbidden Door III, Will and Swerve gave it all out in the ring. The Aerial Assassin pulled out every move in his arsenal, except for Tiger Driver. At one instance, Don Callis tried to hand the latter a screwdriver while the referee was down but still didn't use it.

Later, the AEW World Champion picked up the victory after a series of dangerous offenses. Following the match, The Realest consoled disappointed Ospreay. This was the Aerial Assassin's first singles loss since debuting in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

It will be interesting to see who will be the next challenger for Swerve, as MJF and Daniel Garcia were closely watching the match.
