A top AEW star revealed he handed a championship to Tony Khan after appearing on Dynamite: Blood and Guts. The star being discussed is Will Ospreay.
He won the AEW International Championship at Double or Nothing pay-per-view after defeating Roderick Strong and held it for 52 days. On the July 17 episode of Dynamite, he lost the title to MJF in a hard-fought hour-long battle. Despite Ospreay's best efforts, he couldn't pin Maxwell Jacob Friedman. In the closing moments of the bout, the latter used his diamond ring to defeat the champion.
On the AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts episode, the Wolf of Wrestling entered the ring, dumped the championship in the trash can, and revealed a new, redesigned title, calling it the American Championship. Later, Will Ospreay confronted him and announced his rematch with MJF at All In, as he didn't pick a clean victory over Ospreay.
While going backstage, the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion took out the title from the trash can. He later took to X/Twitter and mentioned that he had handed the International Championship back to Tony Khan. The Aerial Assassin also said he would try to recapture the title at All In, Wembley Stadium.

"Max clearly is a fan of my work. I handed the International championship back to @TonyKhan the moment I walked through to gorilla. I can only apologise to every former International champion that worked hard to make the title meaningful. I will get it back at @wembleystadium," he wrote.
AEW star MJF says he will not face Will Ospreay again
MJF and Will Ospreay battled in a ruthless contest on Dynamite 250. Maxwell defeated the latter to win the International Championship.
While speaking with The Wrestling Classic, The Salt of the Earth stated that he would not wrestle Ospreay again as he defeated the latter once.
"Why would I wrestle a guy I beat so handily? That doesn't even make any sense. I literally beat him in record time. I mean... yeah, if somebody tries to pitch that to me... there’s no reality that match is happening again. I beat him, I now have this title," he said.
It remains to be seen who emerges victorious at All In 2024 at Wembley Stadium.
