A top star, who recently departed AEW, has disclosed that he has held talks with WWE following his tenure with All Elite Wrestling. The said performer is Matt Hardy, who's one of the most decorated performers in wrestling history.
A few weeks back, rumors emerged about Hardy's AEW contract expiring by the end of March. This was soon confirmed by the WWE legend who revealed that he was in the middle of negotiations for an extension with the company. However, the two parties couldn't come to an agreement, making Matt Hardy a free agent. As expected, this soon gave way to rumors about him returning to WWE.
On the recent episode of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the 49-year-old disclosed that he did have discussions with the Stamford-based promotion. He also revealed that he had been talking to AEW and a few others in the business.
"Full disclosure. I am doing what I should be doing as a free agent, creating hype around myself. Yes, I have been speaking with AEW constantly. I have been speaking with WWE. I've been speaking with several people across several different platforms," said Matt Hardy. [H/T- WrestlingNews]

Matt Hardy also spoke about how fans could expect some fun stuff from him amid his free agency. The former tag team champion explained that he was also eyeing to strengthen his personal brand through social media and other platforms.
"So I think the next couple of weeks are going to be fun. The next few weeks are going to be fun. As I said before, I think we're getting to the point where we're going to be doing some pretty cool stuff coming up. So yeah, I am doing what I should be doing and my job as a brand, which I have to look at myself as a brand, a lot of my social media stuff is the Hardy brand. My job as a brand is to promote myself and to create buzz around myself and I feel like I do a pretty decent job with it whenever I am just able to kind of freelance and do whatever," added Hardy.
Despite enjoying life as a free agent there is every possibility of a return for the veteran. Matt Hardy is loved by the WWE Universe, and it's safe to say there's a big possibility of seeing him back in the Stamford-based promotion soon.
