This week's AEW Dynamite was another hectic episode building to next week's Fright Night and the Full Gear pay-per-view. A certain heel turned up the heat during Dynamite and has now given his new look an official debut while also debuting his impressive comedic chops.
Kyle Fletcher appeared with Don Callis on this week's Dynamite for an in-ring interview with Tony Schiavone. The Australian grappler lashed out at longtime friend (now foe) Will Ospreay, taunting him and declaring himself to be bigger and better in every possible way. The 25-year-old then shaved his head in an effort to destroy all comparisons to The Aerial Assassin and shed any trace of their friendship.
The Protostar officially debuted his new look while speaking to CBS 2 Iowa this morning to promote Saturday's Collision. Fletcher announced that this is the official "debut" of his new look as viewers were seeing it for the first time since the half-shave on Dynamite. He explained why he shaved his hair off and then delivered the weather report in a hilarious fashion.
"I had this best friend, his name is Will Ospreay, and I'm sure everyone can relate to sort of being compared to somebody else, and that feeling of comparing yourself, having other people say it, and it just... I couldn't shake it my entire career, these comparisons. So, this was almost ceremonious of me shedding that comparison, shedding those things that people were saying. So, yeah... this is a new start for me, and I'm looking forward to moving forward as the one and only Kyle Fletcher," Fletcher said. [From 1:25 to 2:07]

AEW has not confirmed Fletcher vs. Ospreay as of this writing, but the heel told The Aerial Assassin to accept the challenge for next week, even if he's not medically cleared. The longtime associates have only wrestled once in AEW, and that was on March 6 in a 20-minute Dynamite main event. Ospreay also defeated Fletcher in 2019 for FCP and in 2020 for RevPro.
Big return and more added to AEW Collision
All Elite Wrestling has just announced that Penelope Ford will return to the ring on Saturday's live Collision episode. This will be a warm-up for her November 6 Dynamite match against Jamie Hayter.
Ford returned on Dynamite to attack Hayter but has been on the shelf since February 2023. She has not wrestled for AEW since October 2022.
AEW has also announced two additional matches for Saturday's Collision. Ricochet will face Lio Rush, while FTR will go against Rush and Dralístico. The episode will air live from the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and ROH TV matches will also be taped.
