AEW star Brody King recently revealed that Darby Allin is responsible for bringing him to the Tony Khan-led promotion. Darby Allin is a former TNT Champion.
On the January 12, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite, Brody King made his All Elite Wrestling debut and officially became a member of The House of Black. The 37-year-old was previously signed to Ring of Honor and recently revealed an interesting story about how he landed a job in All Elite Wrestling.
In an interview with WrestleMobs, Brody King revealed that Darby Allin gave him Tony Khan's number on the day ROH closed its doors. While The House of Black member acknowledged his differences with Darby Allin, he's thankful for what the former TNT Champion has done for him.

"The day that Ring of Honor closed, he texted me the very next day and said 'this is Tony Khan's number, he's expecting you to call him,' and it's like that stuff, like that is like nothing I can ever repay," King explained. "Me and Darby don't see eye to eye in all facets of our life, so where–I think that there's a baseline of respect, and you know maybe love there somewhere, but sometimes you've got to fight it out to get through the weeds." In the same interview, Brody King noted how many wrestlers fail to find friends in the business who they get along with. The veteran said he was lucky to find Darby Allin who shares the same interests as him and helps him break through his limits in professional wrestling.
"I think for some people, they never find that person that they just click with, and then sometimes you find them early on and I was lucky to find that me and Darby were willing to push each other to the limit no matter what and deal out as much punishment as possible." [H/T: WrestlingINC]
Darby Allin is rumored to dethrone Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship in the future. It will be interesting to see how things shape up leading up to the rumored moment.
