A former WWE and AEW World Champion revealed that he suffered a broken finger during his match at Blood and Guts this week. The star shared a post on social media to inform the fans.
The top star in question is none other than Chris Jericho. This week at Dynamite Blood and Guts, Jericho was set to defend his FTW championship against Japanese legend Minoru Suzuki. As expected, it was a hard-hitting battle between the two veterans, featuring chair shots under the FTW rule.
At the end of the bout, Jericho managed to secure the win and retain his title with a Judas Effect. After the match, his Learning Tree stablemates, Big Bill and Bryan Keith, attacked Suzuki, but Katsuyori Shibata was there to save the legend. Now, The Ocho has given an update after his match.
Jericho shared a picture to his Instagram handle, revealing that he had suffered a broken finger during his match with Minoru Suzuki. He also wrote the following in the caption:
"Even though I beat @suzuki.d.minoru and retained my #FTW Title on #AEWDynamite tonight….he is completely INSANE!! HE chopped me over 100 TIMES, dropped me on my HEAD, and he BROKE MY FINGER!!!! I promise you #Suzuki you PSYCHO…..this isn’t over!!!" he wrote.
The AEW Blood and Guts 2024 match was memorable
While Chris Jericho vs. Minoru Suzuki was one of the many bouts on the card, this week's Dynamite was all about the 'Blood and Guts' match. It was a brutal mess, just like in previous years.
The Team Elite, consisting of The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, and Hangman Adam Page, went against the Team AEW, which featured The Acclaimed, Darby Allin, Mark Briscoe, and AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland.
Just when Darby was about to set Perry on fire, Team Elite decided to quit and lost the match.
Only time will tell how the storyline between the two teams will progress after a violent Blood and Guts.
