A recent proclamation by an AEW star has caught the attention of pro-wrestling fans, including the WWE audience. According to the veteran, this warrants a similar response from Triple H and the Stamford-based promotion.
Darby Allin has been making plans to climb Mt. Everest for quite a while now, which was unfortunately delayed due to an injury. Recently, however, he added another goal to his task, by claiming that he would plant an All Elite Wrestling flag on top of the summit.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter was asked to share his thoughts on the matter. The veteran journalist stated:

"The whole point of it is like the astronaut that put the American flag on the moon. He wants to go to the summit of Mt. Everest and claim AEW there. However if he does that, I wanna see what WWE is gonna come back with, to top that." [0:53 onwards]

A WWE legend thinks Darby Allin is the true face of AEW
Darby's contributions to the Jacksonville-based promotion are nothing to be scoffed at, as he is one of the fiercest advocates of the brand.
Speaking on the Busted Open After Dark podcast, WWE veteran Tommy Dreamer laid out his thoughts about the daring star and stated:
"If there was ever somebody that I, Tommy Dreamer, would get behind. I will tell you who this person is right now because of his little sit-down, Darby Allin. He's been flying the flag of AEW for quite some time. He is truthful in what he says. But Darby Allin really gave the blueprint of what AEW means to him, what AEW should mean to the wrestling fans and the wrestlers."

Tommy Dreamer also later stated that Darby Allin was similar to WWE legend Jeff Hardy in some respects, considering how they were both very brave in their wrestling styles.
It remains to be seen how Darby's trek to the Everest summit pans out. As of now, he is still quite active in the active scene of the company and determined in his pursuit of the top prizes of the brand.
