An AEW star recently revealed how WWE CCO Triple H reacted when he discussed his future in pro wrestling. The star being discussed is Big Bill, who has been with AEW since 2022.
The former AEW World Tag Team Champion was one-half of the prominent tag team in WWE alongside Enzo Amore. The duo had a great run in NXT and then the main roster after they were drafted to RAW. The erstwhile Big Cass even got the opportunity to be a singles star. In 2018, he was released from the promotion after which he made his mark on the independent scene.
Big Bill has also stated in interviews that his alcohol addiction while in WWE was a major reason behind his release, but that WWE was supportive of him during this time. However, the star never went back to WWE and instead went to Impact Wrestling (TNA Wrestling) in 2021.
While speaking on Talk is Jericho, Big Bill revealed that he had to call Triple H ahead of returning to Impact but was hesitant to do so because the latter and WWE helped him during his difficult times. After he texted him, The Game respected his decision.

“Before I went to Impact, I texted Hunter and wanted to let them know, super appreciative. ‘I’m super appreciative. I’m not ready to come back to WWE. I want to go do this. Down the road, we’ll see.’ He was super cool about it. That’s exactly what he said, ‘Do what you have to do, down the road.’ That’s the only time I reached out to them at that point," he said.
