A top tag team has just been officially added to Team AEW's side just one week away from their Blood and Guts match against The Elite. The tag team in question would be The Acclaimed.

Before tonight's show, only Mark Briscoe and Swerve Strickland had officially announced their intentions of representing the promotion for the match. The Elite, on the other hand, have already come up with five men after Hangman Adam Page had come around, and asked to join their side for the match next week.

Tonight, during a backstage segment, The Acclaimed joined Mark Briscoe as they made their pitch as to why they should be chosen as a part of Team AEW. They brought up how they beat The Young Bucks last month and were future 2-time tag team champions.

Briscoe was willing to let them join but noted that this wasn't his decision alone. Swerve then came and acknowledged that he could work with them, thus accepting their offer to join the team. Now, they only need to find one more member before AEW Blood and Guts next week.

A potential candidate could be Darby Allin who returned last week, attacking The Elite's stooge, Brandon Cutler, sending a message to the faction. It remains to be seen whether they'll go with him for the match.
