An AEW star who has been absent for months is slated to make his debut on a major wrestling promotion outside Tony Khan's company. The star also commented on the announcement of his debut.
The underutilized AEW star in question is none other than Danhausen. The 33-year-old star has not been on TV for the past several months. He was last seen in a multi-man battle royal match at the Worlds End 2023 pay-per-view. Amidst his absence, Mr. Very Nice Very Evil has been competing on the independent wrestling scene.
While away from the AEW ring, Danhausen is all set to make his debut in the Japanese wrestling promotion, DDT Pro Wrestling. The official X/Twitter handle of the promotion recently shared a post announcing that the star will be one of the participants in the Shinjuku Face Tournament set to happen on the 13th and 14th of August.
DDT's official handle also revealed that this will be Danhausen's first visit to Japan. The 33-year-old also commented on his announced debut in his usual style:

The absent AEW star had his WWE plans scrapped
A former WWE analyst, Matt Camp, recently disclosed how he once pitched an idea for Danhausen's debut in the Stamford-based promotion. Speaking on The Wrestling Matt podcast, Matt Camp revealed:
"I wanted Danhausen to come work and do things with me and WWE. I had an entire pitch... He was under contract at that time. It never went anywhere, so I wasn't tampering or anything like that. I thought he could bring a lot to the table. And I had this pitch to do a fashion show, it never went anywhere because we could not get him."
Moreover, Danhausen's return to All Elite TV is still anticipated to take place soon. Only time will tell what the future has in store for the AEW star.
