AEW has signed some of the greatest talents in the wrestling industry and those who are potentially the next big name. While most of their signings have been taken positively by wrestling fans, an update from an already-signed professional wrestler caused some commotion online.

That wrestler in question is Lio Rush, who's signed with AEW but appears sporadically on its programming. In May, he had only two matches in AEW, one was on Collision, in which Roderick Strong defeated him. On Dynamite, he was part of the AEW World Title #1 Contendership Forbidden Door Casino Gauntlet. In June, he defeated Action Andretti on AEW Rampage to qualify for the Forbidden Door TNT Title match and had another bout on Collision.

A recent report suggests that the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion would be a regular on AEW programming going forward. This seemingly did not sit well with fans.

One fan tweeted that he would quit again, while another suggested that he could be a part of the House of Black, which saw its member Buddy Matthews being taken out recently.

"Black Heart in HOB," one user posted.
"Until he quits again," another one mused.

One fan asked how long this stint would last.

"How long will this one last," yet another user had the same query.

The users were pretty underwhelmed and voiced it all online.

"Nobody asked for this," yet another user put his thoughts into words.
"Until he retires again…." was a common consensus.

Black Heart has had a formidable career but has yet to create a niche. His most famous outing in professional wrestling was as Bobby Lashley's manager in WWE for a year from 2018 to 2019. Rush has announced his retirement a handful of times, including once in 2021.

In 2020, Rush, who is also pursuing a music career, had hinted at retiring, and that's the reason the announcement of him being more active in AEW is gaining flak.

AEW star Lio Rush commented on Carmelo Hayes' move to SmackDown

Lio Rush had an exciting stint in WWE's NXT, from 2017 to 2018, and also captured the NXT Cruiserweight Championship in 2019.

When Carmelo Hayes was all set to make his wrestling debut on SmackDown, he re-posted a video from WWE's Instagram with a warning.

"Smackdown’s gonna learn what NXT already knows," Hayes wrote.

The former Cruiserweight Champion commented on the post, saying:

"Let's go [fire emojis.]"

Several fans at the time had asked for Rush to return to WWE. However, with Rush currently in AEW and reports suggesting he is set to be a regular, it doesn't seem likely fans will see him in a WWE ring soon.
