Veteran appalled by Kazuchika Okada's behavior around Mercedes Mone, bashes AEW for ruining "multi-million dollar investment"

Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette has called out AEW for Kazuchika Okada's recent segment. The Rainmaker is the current Continental Champion.

On the latest edition of Dynamite, The Elite was involved in a comedic segment with Mercedes Mone backstage. Kazuchika Okada asked Matthew Jackson if he could see Mone's entrance dance, to which she agreed. After seeing The CEO's dance moves, Okada gave a hilarious reaction, which has become a part of his current heel character.

On his Jim Cornette's Drive-Thru podcast, the former WWE manager slammed the backstage segment between Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone.

"Okada whispers to Matty (...) he says, he wants you to do your dance and she does her little stripper dance for him (...) and there is their new billion-dollar baby and he's fanning himself like he's sweating in his suit like he's godd*mn 16. This is their multi-million dollar investment from Japan. His work looks like if he just got out of a godd*mn rehab facility for [a] f***ing medically induced coma. And they are portraying him just as much of a f***ing child as these two that have ledged on to his jock and are swinging from it like two trained f***ing chimpanzees." [00:44 - 1:50]

Dutch Mantell slams Kazuchika Okada's creative direction in AEW

Kazuchika Okada turned heel and joined The Elite after signing with All Elite Wrestling. He has also taken up a comedy character and managed to get over with the AEW fans. However, many veterans, including Dutch Mantell, are not fond of his current gimmick.

On his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the former WWE manager claimed that the company had lost its creative direction for Okada.

"The Bucks are supposed to be heels, right? Kazuchika Okada, people are laughing; they are enjoying him. So, he is really a babyface; doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? I mean, he said, 'Oh God, Oh!' and covered his hands up. I don't know if anybody has seen this or not, but it's kind of comical to see a Japanese guy doing it anyway, and I don't know; I think they've lost their direction on that one already," Mantell said. Kazuchika Okada recently lost to AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland via disqualification. On Wednesday, he will represent The Elite in the Blood & Guts Match.
