Wrestling veteran, Violent J has come out in defense of an AEW star and expressed his distaste for CM Punk. The star in question is none other than Colt Cabana.
Recently, Violent J revealed that he has had beef with CM Punk for the past 20 years, dating back to their time in TNA Wrestling. The veteran had also discussed his dislike for The Second City Saint after the latter's infamous All Out 2022 incident with The Elite.
In an appearance on Ad Free Shows with Conrad Thompson, Violent J discussed his recent comments about CM Punk and his general distaste for the 45-year-old veteran. He also said he felt Punk suffered a lot from within and that he might never understand the latter.
"I unloaded because I have an outlet and something is on my mind, I unload. The funny this is, he doesn't live in my mind like that. It's not like a grudge where I'm after him. I just saw it and I was like 'F*ck this guy.' That's it. There is no anger to it. I don't like him. I think he suffers inside. Just watching and observing as a fan, I think he has problems and there is a lot more going on in his head than I'll ever understand," he said.
He further revealed that he respects CM Punk's work as a professional wrestler and is a fan however, dislikes the person behind the character for openly sharing his issues and bad-mouthing his friend Colt Cabana.
"When you diss a personal friend on top of blatant disrespect of me and Shaggy, I say f*ck him. I wish I would bump into him. If you ask him what he thinks of ICP, he'd tell you the same thing about us. I just said it first. It's not a deep-seated hatred. I don't know you. You're dissing my boy, you dissed us, f*ck you. That's all it amounts to," he added. [H/T: Fightful]
Violent J further explained why he hates former AEW star CM Punk
CM Punk is a controversial figure in professional wrestling. The veteran has won countless titles across many promotions, however, his backstage altercations in AEW might have damaged his image among many veterans and fans.
Speaking with Conrad Thompson on Ad Free Shows, Violent J discussed why he doesn't like Punk. He brought up the beef between Punk and Colt Cabana as one of the reasons behind his dislike for the former AEW World Champion. He felt Punk ridiculing Cabana for sharing a bank account seemed inhumane.
"The whole thing about dissing Colt for sharing a bank account seems so inhuman to me. I want people to know I'm not cool with him dissing Colt for that reason. What's wrong with that? It kind of embarrassed myself a little bit in that it looks like I'm fuming about him, but if you follow my Instagram and see the stuff I post, that's pretty much what I do. It's not as big as it appears, my dislike for him, and I enjoy watching him wrestle," said Violent J. [H/T:Fightful]
CM Punk does not shy away from responding to controversial comments. It will be interesting to see if the Best in the World fires back at Violent J in the coming weeks.
