A former WCW veteran took a cheeky shot at AEW citing one of their infamous spots while reflecting on Ricochet's last appearance on WWE TV. The veteran explained how the Stamford-based promotion was smart.
On last week's episode of WWE RAW, Ricochet probably made his last appearance on the show before his rumored departure from the Stamford-based promotion. He interrupted and took out Bron Breaker but was assaulted by Bron backstage later on. Breaker also put Ricochet through a glass windshield during the brutal assault.
Speaking on the Keepin' IT 100 OFFICIAL podcast, the former WCW veterans, Konnan and Disco Inferno recently discussed how Ricochet had protective padding in the back underneath his shirt to avoid any serious injury.
Konnan stated that the padding was a smart move by the Stamford-based promotion to put the padding before such a risky move, also taking a shot at AEW for their infamous spot where Jack Perry used real glass last year at 'All In 2023' event:
Cody Rhodes' uncle is a WWE Hall of Famer. More details HERE.
"That was smart (padding) because in AEW, they'd use real glass like they did with Jack Perry. 'Oh, we're cool and we're tough.' Until you f***ing cut an artery or some sh*t, then you won't be that cool." [4:09 - 4:21]
Veteran says Ricochet deserves better than his WWE run
The former WCW veteran, Konnan also admitted that WWE cut the star's wings throughout his run and he deserves better amid his departure rumors. The veteran also admitted that the 35-year-old star will mean nothing in AEW after some time as well:
"He's one of the very few guys I've ever seen and nobody's ever hit it as perfect as him do a double moonsault. He's ridiculously athletic and talented bro and he deserves better than what they've done with him in WWE but he's going to go over here [AEW] and have bangers of matches and probably mean nothing after six months."
Meanwhile the rumors of The One and Only departing from WWE and possibly landing to AEW continue to circulate. Only time will tell what's next for the high flyer.
