Vince McMahon has become the talk of the wrestling town since rumors of his ouster from WWE's creative process.
Jim Cornette suspects McMahon's decision to turn down the idea of bringing back CM Punk might have something to do with him getting snubbed from the creative helm.
The Straight Edge Superstar's wrestling future has been up in the air since his AEW departure, with many speculating that he could be WWE bound. Despite recent reports ruling out the possibility, the fact that Survivor Series is taking place in his hometown of Chicago is enough to fuel speculation of his arrival among fans.
Speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience podcast, Jim Cornette wondered whether Vince McMahon had a falling out with Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel over bringing back CM Punk:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"Potentially if Vince [McMahon] did blow [CM] Punk off or did decide against Punk... Is that why maybe Vince is being rumored to be away from creative now? Did Ari [Emanuel] have a situation with Vince over this, over potentially not wanting Punk to come back in? Is there disagreement there amongst the higher-ups?" Cornette said.
Cornette also downplayed any reports of WWE turning down CM Punk, adding that they would want to keep the element of surprise if the two parties had held talks:
"Because here's the thing, whether Punk talked directly to Vince or not. I don't think he's talking to any employees of the WWE that are talking to Sean Ross Sapp, Dave Meltzer or anybody else. He'd be talking to Nick Khan, Vince McMahon, Triple H, possibly even Ari Emanuel or Bruce Prichard. And none of those people, if they did talk to Dave Meltzer or Sean Ross Sapp or anybody else, they would only be telling them what they wanted them to know. So, again, I don't see what's going on here exactly. It's not clear yet," he added. [7:27 - 8:46]

Eric Bischoff reacts to Vince McMahon no longer being in the creative process
Speaking on the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff weighed in on Ari Emanuel's decision to remove Vince McMahon from WWE's creative process and said it was "far overdue."
"If Ari Emanuel made the decision, which apparently he has, to make sure that everybody on that creative staff knows who their boss is and what the expectations are, most importantly, and that they can move forward with confidence in that knowledge, I think it was a fantastic move that was far overdue," Bischoff said.
With Vince McMahon no longer in the picture, will CM Punk finally return to the Stamford-based promotion? Only time will tell.
