WWE veteran Vince Russo recently made a bold claim about hearing some things about Tony Khan from AEW talents. Tony Khan is the President and head booker of All Elite Wrestling.
The AEW Honcho has done a decent job of making the promotion a true alternative for fans. However, Tony Khan's approach to presenting the AEW product to fans still has many flaws. Vince Russo, who has experience booking wrestling shows, has addressed Khan on the issue.
In the recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, Vince Russo stated that he's heard from some AEW stars that Tony Khan has given them the go-ahead to do whatever they want on television. The former WWE head writer advised Khan to have some control over the talent to present a good product to the audience.
"I've heard from guys on top of AEW where, you know, with Tony [Khan], it's basically just go out there and do whatever you want. You gotta have some kind of control and, you know, in order to put out the type of product that you want. So you really got to find that happy medium." [From 8:00 to 8:18]

EC3 also shared his thoughts on Tony Khan giving creative freedom to AEW talent
In the same episode of The Wrestling Outlaws, former WWE star EC3 explained how Tony Khan should have a structure in the promotion where they would bounce ideas off each other, eventually leading to good creative direction.
He also encouraged Khan to tell a story behind promos and matches to help the fans understand and support the product.
"I think there's a structure necessary, an outline kind of a direction, a conducive business plan. So I think one thing that lacks in wrestling is like, yeah, we have our segments, we have our promos, we have our matches, but the question really should be, what's the business of this and where is it going? So when you have like minds on the same page throwing ideas back and forth, usually you're going to wind up with authentic, real good stuff. And I think for sure, if you saw like creative, I said this before too, it's like creative freedom. A lot of people like fans will like, all these wrestlers need to have more creative freedom." We will have to wait and see if Tony Khan shakes up the direction of All Elite Wrestling once they start streaming on Max.
