AEW fans learned about another backstage altercation allegedly unfolding in the company, this time between Britt Baker and MJF. According to former WWE writer Vince Russo, this is vastly different from how these incidents were dealt with in his time.
Britt Baker reportedly made some controversial comments about MJF and his girlfriend Alicia Atout after the former AEW World Champion's match with Will Ospreay, leading to Britt's suspension. While she is already back in action, the incident, adding to the ever-increasing list of backstage conflicts in the Jacksonville-based company, was certainly not a good sign.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo spoke about how the matter would have been addressed in his days. He said:
"Back in the day, the boys policed the boys. Nobody was getting suspended over issues with each other. It was taken care of behind closed doors. And I say this all the time, there is such a difference in the maturity level of wrestlers today compared to back when I worked. You know wrestlers would get suspended, make no bones about it. But not over personal issues that happened in the back." [6:04 onwards]

Bill Apter has also commented on the AEW backstage altercation
According to Bill Apter, Britt Baker's suspension could possibly have been presented as the setup to a storyline angle.
On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, the legendary journalist talked about MJF's importance in the company. He said:
"From what I understand it was a heated exchange between him and Britt Baker. She'll be at Wembley... I think the sound of MJF possibly cursing out her brought attention from management. MJF to them is still the golden goose so they probably said, 'Do me a favor, just take a few weeks off till Wembley your suspension,' or it's an angle coming down the line."
For now, fans will have to stay tuned to see how Tony Khan handles any fallout from the incident in AEW.
