WWE Universe has poked fun at Gunther just a week before SummerSlam 2024 and said that he was in AEW. This happened because of a segment that was shot before RAW went on the air.

Gunther will be taking on Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship and there is a lot of buzz around the match. Before RAW went on air, the former Intercontinental Champion cut a promo in the stands when no fans were yet in the building.

That prompted a lot of fans to crack jokes saying that he was in AEW. AEW has a reputation of not filling up the stands during shows and there have been a lot of instances of late with a lot of empty seats and that is what they were trying to imply when it came to Gunther.

It was definitely a hilarious way to look at things and something that is highly unlikely to take place given that Gunther is such a big name in WWE right now.

Bill Apter thinks Damian Priest will successfully defend title at WWE SummerSlam

Damian Priest will be facing one of his toughest challenges yet as a champion when he takes on Gunther at WWE SummerSlam this week.

Veteran journalist Bill Apter was speaking exclusively on Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine when he predicted that Damian Priest would emerge victorious at SummerSlam. He said:

"A world champion should be able to compose himself well and carry that belt well, and little by little he's [Damian Priest] gaining more attention and more respect. You see, the fans were behind him pretty much when that [RAW promo] happened, so he's a classy world champion and I think that he will defeat Gunther at SummerSlam," he said.

If that happens, then it will be a huge feather in his cap and yet another loss in Gunther’s account. It wil be interesting to see how the two will be faring in their match over the weekend.
