Multi-time world champion Bryan Danielson put up a great showing in his match against Will Ospreay at AEW Dynasty but it appears to have come at a cost. One spot during the enthralling bout had the fans gasp and look on with worried faces.

The spot took place in the middle of the match as Danielson was looking to give Will Ospreay a hurricanrana. After placing his opponent on the top rope and perched perfectly to execute the move, he appeared to botch the sequence.

After trying to pull off the move, Bryan Danielson fell directly on his neck and the impact was such that it seemed like he had broken his neck. Ospreay, to his credit, landed on his feet and looked unfazed. As soon as the former WWE star landed on the mat, the crowd let out an audible gasp.

The strange thing was that in the immediate aftermath of the botch, the referee did not even try to check on Bryan to see if he was ok. Thankfully, the former WWE Champion got up and finished the match.

Will Ospreay calls Bryan Danielson the greatest of all time

Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson went through hell in their match at AEW Dynasty. Ospreay was visibly shaken after appearing to injure the former WWE Champion during the match. He even revealed that he was going to retire the Storm driver move.

Despite getting the win over the former WWE star, Ospreay showed a great amount of respect for his wrestling idol. After the show ended, he took to X/Twitter to reiterate the fact that Danielson was the greatest to ever do it.

"Thank you so much for that incredible atmosphere last night. That was nothing I have ever felt before in my life. Sending all the love and positive vibes to Bryan Danielson. Truly the greatest to ever do this, speedy recovery boss."

Seeing the kind of respect that he has towards Danielson, only means that they will cross paths once again in the future.
