The AEW TBS Championship reign of Mercedes Moné just hit the three-month mark as she made her fourth successful defense over Britt Baker at All In. The former WWE Superstar is gearing up for another big title defense later tonight but had to make a stop to get in a few devastating warm-up chops.
The CEO captured the NJPW Strong Women's Championship from Stephanie Vaquer at Forbidden Door on June 30. Since then, she has only defended the TBS Championship, but that will change tonight. Moné is scheduled to defend against Momo Watanabe at tonight's NJPW Strong Capital Collision pay-per-view in Washington, DC.
Moné is out doing media to promote tonight's pay-per-view. The 14-year industry veteran stopped by The Sports Junkies Show on 106.7 The Fan in DC this morning and was begged to be destroyed by co-host Denton Day. The SiriusXM College Sports Radio host and ESPNU producer took to X today to share photos and footage of the moment, joking that he will be busy icing his chest.
"@MercedesVarnado chopped me into next week this morning. If anyone needs me I’ll be icing my chest @AEW @JunksRadio @1067theFan @team980," Denton Day wrote with the photos and videos below.

Tonight's Momo Watanabe vs. Mercedes Moné match will be the first ever between the two. The match is set to be the main event of Captial Collision. The card will feature other familiar faces such as The Grizzled Young Veterans, Tomohiro Ishii, Zack Sabre Jr., TJP, TMDK, Mustafa Ali, and Lio Rush, among others.
Mercedes Moné spends big for AEW All In
AEW's second annual All In pay-per-view featured the first-ever match between Britt Baker and Mercedes Moné. The 17-minute match saw the former Sasha Banks retain the AEW TBS Championship.
The CEO recently revealed that her All In attire cost more than $10,000. She noted that she spent big on her hair and robe, which was her most expensive in 14 years of wrestling.
AEW has not confirmed who Mercedes Moné will defend against at All Out, if the title will be on the line at all. The big event is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, from the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
