Former AEW World Trios Champion Buddy Matthews suffered a massive injury on last night's episode of Collision and was unable to compete. Despite the numbers game, Malakai Black managed to pick up the win for The House of Black.
The House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews & Brody King) took on The Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin & Colten Gunn) in a Trios Match in the main event of last night's AEW Collision. During the match, Buddy landed awkwardly on his knee while performing a top rope Meteora on Juice Robinson.
The fall seemingly injured Matthew's left knee, and he was taken to the back by the medical team mid-match. On X (formerly Twitter), a fan shared the clip of the exact moment of the match where Buddy Matthews seemingly hurt his knee.

Rhea Ripley reveals what AEW star Buddy Matthews thinks about her success in WWE
The former Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley has been on the top of the WWE ever since she turned heel and joined The Judgement Day in 2022. Rhea had been ruling the Women's Division since last year's WrestleMania; however, she suffered an unfortunate injury in April that led to her relinquishing the Women's World Title and going on a hiatus.
Speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, The Eradicator revealed that her fiance, Buddy Matthews, is happy for her success in the Stamford-based promotion.
"He loves it. It doesn’t make him feel a negative way. He’s happy for me and also knows how far I can go in this company and how far his limitations are as well. Like, obviously it is a male dominated sport. There is only so many females in it, so if you show that you are different and connect with the crowd in a certain way, you are obviously going to skyrocket to the top," she said.
Buddy Matthews is currently a part of The House of Black faction in All Elite Wrestling. It will be interesting to see if he decides to return to the WWE after his contract with AEW expires
