Mercedes Mone appeared on the latest episode of Dynamite to celebrate her victory at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024. On her way to the ring, she had an interesting interaction with The Young Bucks.
The Beach Break edition of Dynamite followed on the heels of the third edition of Forbidden Door, which saw Mercedes Mone defeat Stephanie Vaquer for the latter's NJPW Strong Women's Championship. The win crowned The CEO as a double champion, as she already held the AEW TBS Title since beating Willow Nightingale Double or Nothing 2024. However, Mone's post-match celebration in the UBS Arena would be spoiled by a returning Britt Baker, who also appeared on the Wednesday Night Show on the July 3, 2024 episode of Dynamite.
The DMD addressed her lengthy absence from the ring and shed some light on her health and the hiatus. The former AEW Women's World Champion went on to call out Mercedes Mone, who did not take long to make her presence felt in the Wintrust Arena.
Moments after her promo, a vehicle was seen pulling up to the arena, out of which stepped Mone. To the surprise of the audiences, the 32-year-old star was greeted by The Young Bucks, who congratulated Mone for her win at Forbidden Door. The EVPs also praised her as a CEO they approved of—alluding to their ongoing storyline rivalry with AEW President and CEO Tony Khan—and asked her to head to the ring for her double championship victory celebration.
You can watch Mone's entry and interaction with the Bucks from the 1:17 mark in the clip below:
The Boss confronted Baker in the ring, and the two exchanged words before Baker challenged Mone to a match at All In 2024. It remains to be seen whether or when the blockbuster bout will be made official.
