A former WWE Superstar recently revealed that he unknowingly played a part in Adam Copeland's (fka Edge) return to the company five years ago. He mentioned how at the time, he was with Natalya and two other popular names, and they had no inkling that his in-ring return was possible.

Dax Harwood is one of those in the business close to The Rated-R Superstar, as they both reside in North Carolina. The same can be said for his tag team partner, Cash Wheeler.

During an interview with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Dax mentioned how he had no clue that Adam Copeland was considering a return. At one point, FTR assisted Beth Phoenix and Natalya as they were gearing up for their tag team match at WrestleMania 35.

"When Adam was just - when it was just a thought in his brain that he wanted to come back to wrestling or try to come back to wrestling, actually Cash [Wheeler] and I had no idea. We had no clue. What we had done was, we had met Beth Phoenix and Natty and they asked us to go to Tom Prichard's school to help them with tag team stuff because they, you know, Beth was gonna come back for a little 'Mania run as a tag team with Natty and they wanted us to work on tag team stuff with them, tag team psychology with them," said Dax.

Cope tagged along, watched the training session, and later began running the ropes. A year and a half later, Harwood found out that the Hall of Famer was seriously planning his return, so they helped him train for it. This eventually turned into his iconic return at the 2020 Royal Rumble.

"Of course, they were going to bring Adam because Adam's a friend of ours, and towards the end of the training with Beth and Natty, Adam decided to jump in the ring and he just wanted to try a few things out. We had no idea what that would have led to, and then fast forward, I want to say maybe a year and a half later, he told us that he was seriously thinking about it and he had a ring near his house, which is now going to be our wrestling school, and we joined him and helped him get ready for his big return in WWE." Dax Harwood also spoke about helping Adam Copeland train for his "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever," with Randy Orton at Backlash 2020.

Adam Copeland shares the ring with a former WWE rival after 15 years

With his return to wrestling in 2020, no one expected Adam Copeland to have a chance to run it back with some of the stars he faced during the last time he was active in the industry,

With his move to AEW in 2023, he finally got a chance to reunite and run into several of these names, including Chris Jericho. During the January 4 edition of Collision, he had a run-in with The Nueve as Rated-FTR faced off against The Learning Tree in trios action.

The two met backstage before the match and talked about their decades of history. After 15 years, they finally had a chance to share the ring. They feuded in 2010 and got to revisit all that this year.

Now, Adam Copeland looks better than ever and is looking to make the most of his second life in wrestling, as he is feuding with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.
