AEW has signed many former WWE stars in the past few years and has given them the opportunity to make a name for themselves. One of them is the tag team of Mansoor and Mason Madden (The MxM Collection). Mansoor recently spoke about how the Stamford-based promotion rejected some of their ideas.
The MxM Collection was known as The Maximum Male Models in WWE, led by Max Dupri (LA Knight) and Maxxine Dupri. However, the team failed shortly after Max Dupri was given his old LA Knight gimmick back. Mansoor and Mason Madden were released by the promotion in September 2023.
In July 2024, Mason Madden and Mansoor (The MxM Collection) signed with AEW and have had a successful run in the promotion. The fans have appreciated both stars' abilities as they have been featured on All Elite Wrestling and ROH television. In a recent appearance on Talk is Jericho, Mansoor and Mason spoke about the differences between AEW and WWE. They revealed that All Elite Wrestling gets on board with their creative pitches and encourages them to make it work whereas WWE rejected their ideas.
“In AEW, I feel like if you put everything you have into something, they can make it happen for you, but at the end of the day, it’s sink or swim based on your ability and your instincts and your talent. For example, when we had the wonderful Rico Constantine at WrestleDream in our corner, that was something that happened because we simply asked Sonjay Dutt. We said, ‘Hey, is it possible to have somebody that’s been out of the business for 20 years, who is the famous stylist for Billy and Chuck, in our corner for this match?’ He said, ‘If you can get his number, you can convince him, I will do my best to make that happen.’ Where as I feel in WWE, that probably would be a hard no.” [H/T:Fightful]

AEW star Mansoor reveals WWE rejected their ideas multiple times
The Maximum Male Models were barely featured on WWE television. They were used as a comedy tag team and even after Triple H took over as The Head of Creative, things did not change for Mansoor and Mason.
In the same episode, Mansoor spoke about how WWE wasn't willing to go with their ideas. He spoke about the feeling of having your idea implemented into the story and shared how it feels once it's set and done.
“We’ve been told no many times in WWE. There’s something special about being able to have an idea and see it come to fruition. There’s been a couple times that we just sat back and went, ‘Oh, it actually happened. We actually did it.’” [H/T:Fightful]
We will have to wait and see if Tony Khan has some big plans for The MxM Collection in 2025.
