A major AEW star made his return to the ring after a life-threatening condition kept him away last year. Tony Khan was overjoyed to see this star make his return.

Not many can argue against the statement that Kenny Omega is one of the best professional wrestlers in the world. He is known for putting on some stunning matches throughout his career. Sadly, his career came to a screeching halt over a year ago when he was diagnosed with diverticulitis.

As a result, he took some time off to recover from the condition and even underwent surgery. Omega surprised fans a few months ago when he showed up at NJPW Power Struggle and stated that he wanted to return to the company at Wrestle Dynasty. Following this, he was attacked backstage by Gabe Kidd. Hence, The Cleaner challenged Kidd to a match at Wrestle Dynasty 2025.

Earlier tonight, these two men finally locked horns in an intense match that went over 30 minutes. In the end, Omega came out on top. Following the bout, Tony Khan couldn't contain his excitement as he welcomed the AEW EVP back to the ring with a heartwarming post on social media.

"Welcome back to pro wrestling, @KennyOmegamanX! So many of the best of @njpw1972 + @we_are_stardom+ @CMLL_OFICIAL + @ringofhonor + @AEW + the wrestling fans have all come together to make this an amazing show! Thank you all watching WrestleDynasty on @njpwworld + @FiteTV now!"

Kenny Omega also made a surprise appearance at AEW Worlds End ahead of his in-ring return

While fans eagerly awaited Kenny Omega's return to Wrestle Dynasty, The Cleaner decided to give his fans an early treat. AEW Worlds End saw Kazuchika Okada win the semi-final and final of the Continental Classic tournament, thereby retaining his title.

Following the win, Christopher Daniels stated that since he was no longer an EVP, he couldn't hand Okada the titles. Just then, Omega's music played and the fans were overcome with joy to see The Best Bout Machine back in the Jacksonville-based promotion again.

Omega entered the ring and handed the title to Okada and the two men had an intense staredown. Given their history in NJPW, a potential match between them could be on the horizon.

It will be interesting to see if we will get another match between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada.
