A popular AEW star recently teased returning to in-ring duties after being absent for over a year. The star being discussed here is Tay Melo.

Tay wrestled her last match in AEW on the January 11, 2023, edition of Rampage. She and her match partner, Anna Jay, suffered a defeat at the hands of Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale in a Street Fight.

In May 2023, the 28-year-old and her husband, Sammy Guevara, announced their pregnancy. The couple welcomed a baby girl on November 28, 2023. The AEW star has been on maternity leave since then.

A video featuring Tay Melo training in the ring recently went viral on social media. For those unaware, Melo had hinted at her return last month.

After seeing the video, many wrestling fans shared their thoughts on the Brazilian star.

A fan stated, "Well, that's disappointing! [I] was really hoping she'd stay home!"
"She still can’t run the ropes! How is she losing momentum after hitting the ropes?" another fan wondered.

Some fans were glad after hearing about Tay's potential in-ring return.

"Just keep her away from Sammy. We know they’re a couple; let her do her own thing because she’s a great worker. Doesn’t need to be tied down!" a fan suggested.

Tay Melo comments on her AEW in-ring status

Tay Melo recently took to X/Twitter to share her experience after returning to the ring following an extended sabbatical. The talented wrestler expressed her delight at returning to the ring but admitted that she still has a long way to go.

"So happy to be able to be in the ring again. With a lot of patience, I’ll get ready to be back; it’s a whole new body, and I still feel so [weak] inside. I got frustrated a couple times, had to hold my tears, and kept going. My body was my baby’s home for 40 weeks, and now I’ll get stronger, not just for me but for her too. It’s a long way to go, but I’m closer than yesterday," Tay said.
