WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently took to Twitter (X) to express his displeasure at his omission from the top athlete list. The Nature Boy has been in the wrestling business since the early 1970s. In the last five decades, he has been in almost every top promotion: WWE, WCW, NJPW, ROH, TNA, AEW, and many more.
While the wrestling legend had quite a run in the 21st century, his prime days were undoubtedly during the last two decades of the 20th century. ESPN recently snubbed the 16-time World Champion from its list of the top 100 athletes of the 21st century, which hasn't gone down well with the former Evolution member.
The former AEW star recently expressed his frustration on Twitter (X) as he went on a profanity-laced rant.
"How in the hell, on God’s green earth, is Ric Flair not considered to be one of the top 100 athletes in the world??? I should actually be in the top 10. 16 World Titles, actually 22. 1,200-hour matches, 15 years without a day off; a cultural icon and worldwide sensation. Good Lord! So many people have lost sight of what greatness truly is! I never pulled out with a calf muscle strain. Oh, how the times have changed! What a bunch of bi**hes! I get Tom Brady and all that, but come on, let’s get serious!" Ric Flair wrote.

Who does Ric Flair want to see beat his longtime record?
The legendary Flair recently revealed his choice for the possible conqueror of his record of 16 World Titles. With 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena set to retire from in-ring competition in December 2025, fans are hopeful to see The Franchise Player break The Nature Boy's record during the Retirement Tour.
Meanwhile, Ric's daughter, Charlotte Flair, is a 14-time Women's World Champion on WWE's main roster.
The legendary wrestler recently took to Twitter (X) and revealed The Queen as his first choice to break the world record. However, Ric Flair also said he would be the first person to shake John Cena's hand if the latter broke his record.
It will be interesting to see if The Doctor of Thuganomics claims the WWE World Title for the 17th time during his Retirement Tour.
