When MJF rejected CM Punk's bold Britt Baker claim: "The fact of the matter is she's f***ing not"

AEW American Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is one of the most controversial figures in the world of professional wrestling. The 28-year-old recently found himself in another controversy due to a reported backstage incident with former AEW Women's World Champion Britt Baker.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The D.M.D. has been fined and suspended for one to two weeks following a backstage altercation with The Salt of The Earth during an episode of Dynamite last month. According to Ibou of WrestlePurists, the incident happened during the 250th episode of AEW's flagship show on July 17, 2024.

The incident reportedly took place after Baker said something about MJF in the women's locker room, which was overheard by the latter's girlfriend, Alicia Atout, who communicated the same to the reigning American Champion. This led to massive tensions between MJF and The D.M.D backstage, and the latter was eventually fined and suspended by the disciplinary committee.

This entire dispute made us walk down memory lane. During the early days of AEW, Friedman, Darby Allin, Jack Perry, and Sammy Guevara were called its four pillars. However, during MJF's feud with CM Punk in 2022, The Best in The World claimed that Baker was a pillar of the company. Furthermore, Baker took shots at The Salt of The Earth and claimed she was more valuable to the company.

In an older conversation with Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp, MJF bluntly said that Punk was wrong, claiming that the former Women's World Champion was not a pillar because she couldn't wrestle him for the World Title, which he previously held.

During the same interaction, the former AEW World Champion said that he was much bigger in stature compared to Britt Baker and would dominate her if they hypothetically locked horns inside the squared circle.
