Shelton Benjamin debuted in AEW 28 days ago, and the rumor mill is already pumping out stories and chatter on his status with the company. After two strong wins under his belt, the former WWE Superstar is speaking out against rumors and speculation making the rounds. Benjamin has also cleared up one very important question surrounding his future with the company.

The Gold Standard was introduced to All Elite Wrestling by Montel Vontavious Porter on the Dynamite Fifth Anniversary show. Since then, MVP has led Benjamin in wins over Lio Rush and Sammy Guevara. This week, they will try to secure a win over Swerve Strickland, who will have Prince Nana in his corner to counter Porter.

Amid various rumors, including Bobby Lashley signing with AEW to reunite The Hurt Business, Benjamin dismissed one piece of speculation that claimed he was not interested in the World Championship.

Benjamin recently spoke with TV Insider to promote Dynamite and was asked if there was anything he wanted from his All Elite Wrestling run that he has not already experienced in the industry. While Shelton did not address Lashley's stance on his AEW in-ring debut, he did speak on a rumor that claimed he was just happy to be on the roster.

The 49-year-old made one thing clear: Shelton Benjamin wants the AEW World Championship.

"I want a world title, period. That is one of the things I got in the business for. There was this article saying I was just happy to be on the roster. Where is this BS coming from? From the day I stepped into pro wrestling, I wanted to be a world heavyweight champion. Coming to AEW, that goal has not changed. I think everyone should strive for that. I think the day I retire that is something I am going to want. If I get the opportunity, I am going to make the most of it," Shelton Benjamin said.

Lashley made lengthy comments on Benjamin and Porter in AEW just this week, for the first time. He jokingly wondered whether Tony Khan had enough money to recruit him and made additional curious comments about the AEW-ROH owner.
