A former AEW star's fake WWE ID poster has been circulating on social media. The star is none other than Fuego Del Sol who has reacted to the fake graphic of his former tag team partner, Fuego 2.
WWE ID is a new program by the Stamford-based promotion that will help independent wrestlers create their path to WWE. Recent reports revealed that WWE would have a say in whether the talent can take bookings from NJPW, AEW, or ROH and compete for the promotions.
The program has already recruited some names from promotions like GCW, CZW, and more. On X, a fan made a fake poster of Fuego 2, who was actually Cody Rhodes under the mask, being recruited by the program. The highflyer shared the post and had a hilarious reaction.
"Who did this?!? Leave the memories alone! RIP Fuego 2."
AEW star QT Marshall on the WWE ID program
The WWE ID Program has been making headlines and many wonder if a big name could end up in the program. The recruitment has already begun, it is currently unknown when the promotion plans on using the talent.
In a recent interview with The Takedown, QT Marshall revealed that he spoke to Cody Rhodes about the WWE ID program. Marshal stated that he isn't sure of what is going on with the program and discussed it with Cody and AEW CEO Tony Khan. He also told Khan about Cody Rhodes' camps being involved in the program.
"I didn't really know about this. When Cody kinda explained it to me, he was very smart about not putting me in the press releases. He didn't want any kind of drama for me. And I told Tony [Khan], Cody has his own camps. It's always kinda been like that ... Now that the WWE is involved, I don't understand what's going on." [H/T WrestlingINC]
We will have to wait and see how WWE plans to handle the situation of the ID talent having All Elite Wrestling and ROH bookings in the future.
