He's become one of the faces of AEW in record time, but Will Ospreay can genuinely establish himself as the company's top guy if he beats MJF at All In 2024. Ahead of the match, Freddie Prinze Jr. compared Ospreay to John McClane.

Considered one of the most iconic characters in film history, Bruce Willis portrayed the role of a tough cop, John McClane, in the Die Hard franchise.

During the latest episode of Wrestling with Freddie, the former WWE writer opened up about his love for Ospreay and claimed the AEW star had similar qualities to the John McClane character.

Calling him the British version of the legendary action hero, Freddie Prinze Jr. couldn't help but express his admiration for AEW's Aerial Assassin.

"Will Ospreay comes off like John McClane in Die Hard. 'Even though you would, you're not as tough as John McClane!' That's Will Ospreay, and he is like the British John McClane, and I fu**ing love him, and don't even bleep that out; that's how much I freakin' love him. I love Ospreay." [From 34:23 onwards]

Freddie Prinze Jr. explains why he is excited for Will Ospreay vs. MJF

Their first-ever match on Dynamite 250 ended with MJF dethroning Will Ospreay as the International Champion.

The 60-minute showdown was an unexpected beginning to a rivalry that many AEW fans have waited for since Ospreay's signing. Following the title loss, The Commonwealth Kingpin wants retribution over MJF, and their rematch at AEW All In is seen as a big deal.

Freddie Prinze Jr. was "stoked" for the match as he was a big fan of both men. It didn't matter if the feud had a deep story, as Prinze Jr. was confident in MJF and Ospreay delivering some memorable moments leading up to the clash.

"I'm so stoked for both of these dudes! Like I said, I don't even care what the story is going to be; they are both going to cut great promos. Max is masterful!" [34:09 - 34:22]

Ospreay and MJF will battle it out for the International Championship (rebranded as the AEW American Title), and rest assured, fans might see a different side of the former NJPW star as he looks to reclaim the belt.
