Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson wrestled for almost 33 minutes last night in what many are calling an instant classic. The two arguably stole the show with their dream match at AEW Dynasty, and The Aerial Assassin was left with plenty of bruises to remember the occasion.

Will Ospreay spiked Bryan Danielson with a brutal Storm Driver after a grueling half hour, then unleashed the Hidden Blade to get the win. However, the match was far from being one-sided, as The American Dragon caught his opponent with several of his own wince-inducing maneuvers, including the Cattle Mutilation and the fearsome Busaiku Knee.

Ospreay has been introspective since last night's pay-per-view, thanking fans for their support and revealing that he intended to retire his Storm Driver maneuver after a potential injury to Bryan Danielson. He also took the time to show off the bruises his rival left him with.

The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion took to X (formerly Twitter) earlier today to display his bruised neck and shoulder. The grisly marks are a reminder that pro wrestling, despite all its spectacle and pageantry, does hurt.

Will Ospreay calls Bryan Danielson "the greatest to ever do this"

Many fans, and even critics such as Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer, called last night's match between Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson one of the greatest bouts to ever take place in the United States. Although Ospreay took several brutal shots from Danielson, his respect for The American Dragon seems to have deepened.

Danielson was helped backstage after the match as he required medical attention due to the Storm Driver-Hidden Blade combo that ended the contest. The fans continued chanting and cheering the two, and Ospreay couldn't help but be inspired.

The Aerial Assassin took to X today and showed respect to his opponent. He also wished the former WWE Champion a speedy recovery.

"Thank you so much for that incredible atmosphere last night. That was nothing I have ever felt before in my life. Sending all the love and positive vibes to Bryan Danielson. Truly the greatest to ever do this, speedy recovery boss," Will Ospreay wrote.

It's unclear as of writing whether Danielson's injury was legitimate or simply part of a storyline. Still, with his final year as a full-time competitor wearing on, it's clear that he intends to leave everything he has in the ring.
